Performance Management

Performance management is the process of managing the execution of an organization’s strategy. It is a framework to alignbusiness improvement methodologies with people, technology and processes to get tangible results. The Balanced Scorecard is at the heart of organizations’ performance management suite, but it also comprises the processes, software tools, and systems that manage the total performance of an organization. It enhances the cross-functional decision making by providing much greater visibility with accurate, reliable, and relevant information—all aimed at executing an organization’s strategy.

Business Process Management (BPM)

Your organization’s ability to provide your customers what they want, when they want it, in the most cost-effective manner, strongly influences your competitive advantage. To achieve this, successful companies have shifted from function-centric towards becoming process-oriented by adopting Business Process Management (BPM). BPM is a management methodology that helps you focus on the development, management and improvement of effective, value-adding processes that replace traditional business functions (e.g. Marketing, Production, Finance etc.) as the drivers of business activity.

Common Assessment Framework (CAF)

The CAF is an easy-to-use, free tool to assist public-sector organisations across Europe in using quality management techniques to improve their performance. The CAF is a total quality management (TQM) tool which is inspired by the major Total Quality models in general, and by the Excellence Model of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) in particular.  It is especially designed for public-sector organisations, taking into account their characteristics. The model is based on the premise that excellent results in organisational performance, citizens/customers, people and society are achieved through leadership driving strategy and planning, people, partnerships, resources and processes. It looks at the organisation from different angles at the same time; a holistic approach to organisation performance analysis.

The EFQM Excellence Model

The EFQM Excellence Model is the most widely used organisational framework in Europe where it has become the basis for the majority of national and regional Excellence Awards as well as the European Excellence Award (EEA).

There are three key aspects of the model: the fundamental concepts of excellence, the model framework, the RADAR management logic;

The model contains 9 criteria and 32 sub-criteria to address in order to achieve true Excellence. The EFQM includes suggestions, which are not prescriptive, as to what kind of proof to use to demonstrate excellence in each of these areas

Enterprise Architecture

An “architecture” is a rich and comprehensive description or understanding of the structure of a system - capturing the components and how they're connected or interact. Enterprise architecture (EA) is the term given to the system of applications, infrastructure, and information that support the business functions of an organisation, as well as the processes and standards that dictate and guide their evolution. Organisations around the world are realising that architecture is indispensable. Modelling and abstraction is a necessity for comprehending, communicating and creating complex systems. Enterprise Architecture is a powerful tool for aligning business strategy and IT strategy, simulation and assessment of development alternatives, integrated business planning and overall change management.

Employee performance assessment

Understanding of human nature is an important, however insufficient prerequisite for modern employee performance assessment in organizations. The skilled application of a suitable appraisal methodology would help to avoid various financial and interpersonal issues.

Among the key aspects in the effective execution of the employee assessment processes, enabling the effective human resources management, is the setting of individual targets that are unambiguous, strategy-aligned and at the same time taking into account the personal characteristics, while being complemented by clearly defined criteria for appraising performance and competencies.
